Brother Monte Cassidy

Brothers and Sisters,

I am sorry to inform you that Brother Monte Cassidy, member of Burlington System Division Lodge 2621, passed away Sunday, October 27th, 2019.

Monte Dean Cassidy, 65, of Monroe City, Missouri passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at Barners Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Graveside Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, MO.

Friends and Family are invited to a visitation that will be from 5:00PM to 6:00 PM, Monday, November 4, 2019 with a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO. Pastor Al Groner, Pastor Woody Burt, and Rev. Mark Howard will officiate.

Monte was born August 5, 1954, in Quincy, Illinois to Titus Philemon Cassidy and Lucille Bernice Johnson Cassidy.

Survivors include 1 brother, Michael T. Cassidy, Sr. of Palmyra, MO; 1 sister, Connie Jo James of Oklahoma; nephews and nieces Michael T. Cassidy, Jr., Brandon Jair Cassidy, Tramiine Sheena Cassidy Dean (Shaylyn) and Shauna Jo Mansfield; and great nieces Jahwuan Cassidy, Aaliyah Dean, and Braylyn Dean and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and great nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 nephew, Joseph Mansfield, Jr., and his half-sister, Margaret Ann Ayers. Monte Cassidy and special friend Arlene Marie Collier-Hall.

Professionally, Monte retired from the BNSF Railroad. He also previosuly worked as an over-the-road truck driver, as a radiology technician, and served as a minister. 

Away from work Monte enjoyed fishing and volunteered with the Missouri Deprartment of Conservation. Monte enjoyed rising motorcycles or his bicycle near his home. Traveling across the United States, watching football, and spending time with his nieces and nephews were also a few of Monte's favorites.

Monte attended Warren Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Warren Baptist Church.
