Brother Jeremy Grayam

Brothers and Sisters,

  I am sorry to inform you that Brother Jeremy Grayam, member of Burlington System Division Lodge 1903, passed away Saturday, September 21st, 2019.


  Jeremy William Edwin Grayam, 32, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed September 21, 2019, at home.

  Jeremy was born June 12, 1987 to Jaqueline Grayam and Gregg DeVaux in Michigan City, Indiana, was a 2006 graduate of Michigan City High School and later attended Purdue North Central.

  Jeremy married Laura Sadenwater on November 9, 2013 in Michigan City, Indiana.

  Jeremy was employed by NICTD as a welder and a proud member of local union BMWED 1903.

  Jeremy is survived by his wife, Laura Grayam, and their three daughters: Evelyn Theresa, Emily Jean, and Ellsion Irene. He is also survived by his parents; Jacqueline and Dennis Barger, or Michigan City, and Gregg and Stacy DeVaux, of Lamar, SC; nine siblings, Kara (Frank) DeVaux, Ervin (Emilee) DeVaux, Kaila Grayam, Sarah (Davonte) Hurt, Shawn (Christine) Graham, all of LaPorte, Jennifer (Bradon) DeVaux of Plymouth, and Kodiak Grayam, Dennis and Owen Barger, all of Michigan City; Grandparents Martha Sheets of Michigan City and Carol Barger of LaPorte. Also surviving is Jeremy’s best friend Chase Dankert, as well as countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers, and friends.

  Jeremy is preceded in death by his favorite Uncle Billy Grayam, and Grandparents, Alice Grayam, Joan and Donald DeVaux, and Mary Ethel Hager.

  Jeremy was happiest when he was outside. He never passed up an opportunity to hunt or fish with his Dad and buddies. Jeremy loved spending time with his family. One of his proudest moments was taking his girls to Disney World this past March.

Evelyn, Emily, an Ellison want everyone to know that their dad was so strong. He loved to rough-house, go on his boat, go fishing and swimming, and feed the seagulls with his family.

  Viewing is from 1 pm to 3 pm this Thursday, September 26, 2019, at the W.A. Cummings Lodge, 350 Grangemouth Road, LaPorte, IN  46350.  A celebration of life will be held at the same location starting at 3 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2019. 

  Persons desiring to make a contribution towards the family’s expenses may leave their donation with either Cindy or Shelly no later than this coming Friday, September 27, 2019.

  Please keep Jeremy’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
