Welcome to the Website for the Burlington System Division!
The Burlington System Division is a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division (BMWED), a Division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT), and a member of the IBT Rail Conference
We hope that you find our site helpful and informative, as well as user friendly.
We believe this website will be a tremendous help to us in distributing information and communicating with our membership, but nothing can replace the interaction, business, and discussions that occur at your regular scheduled Local Meetings. Please make a special effort to attend your Local Meetings and to become involved in your Local. Scheduled Local Meetings are shown on the Calendar Page of this website!
The left-hand column contains the main menu portion of the website and it is accessible by the general public. Just below the Main Menu portion of the page you will find Member Resources which is for the most part, restricted to access by members of the Burlington System Division only. In order to access the listings under Member Resources you will first need to register by submitting information that can verify you are a member of the Burlington System Division.
To become approved to access the Members Resources portions of the website simply go to the top right hand column where it says Member Login. The first time you visit this site you will have to go to the portion that says Not Registered Yet? You then simply click on where it says Click Here to Sign Up. This will give you a page of information you must complete and submit before being approved to go into the Member Resources portion of the website. The information is self-explanatory except for a couple of items.
Member # - This Member # is required and this is a new number the BMWED National Division has recently issued you so they could stop utilizing social security numbers in our database for security reasons. If you do not know your Member # you will have to contact the System Office in Hastings and Staci, Ash, Landy, or Josh can help you with this.
We are also requiring you to provide your email address, Local #, and your Trade so we can better contact you if we are seeking specific information or trying to distribute information to a specific group.
Local # - If you do not know your Local # there is a drop down listing the Locals and cities where they are chartered, but if you still cannot tell your Local # you can contact your Local Chairman or the System Office.
Trade - The Trade is simply the Sub-Department in which you work most of the time. There is also a drop box below for this as well.
Although it is not mandatory, we are also asking for your seniority district to be checked on this application form. This will allow us to send an email or contact members in a certain District only without sending it to all members and those who are not affected.
Obviously the User Name and Password are simply a name and password you create so you can login in the future after being approved to do so. As I stated in the beginning, portions of this website are still being built and we will be able to use more of this website as we go forward.
We encourage our local Lodges to submit information and photos to post on their portion of the site. To find your local Lodge page simply go to the right hand column where it says Local Pages. The listing of the Local includes the Local # and the city in which the Local is chartered. Simply click on your Local #/Charter City and it will take you to your Local’s Page. To start with your Local Page will give you a contact person and a list of officers with their contact information.
